Tirana, January 28, 2011 NOA - The 3G network has now covered Tirana and according to sources from the worldwide giant Vodafone, the 3G network rollout shall cover in few months the cities of Durrës, Shkodra, Vlora, Berat, Fier, Elbasan and Korça and extend gradually to the entire country.
But what novelties and what prices is Vodafone Albania proposing to the users of 3G services?
The Manager of Value Added Services at Vodafone Albania, Shqipe Berisha says that now fast internet is no more an exclusivity of fix ISPs. According to Mrs. Berisha, the actual SIM card of any Vodafone Albania subscriber who has a 3G compatible handset, tablet or netbook shall enable them to experience such internet speed they were only used to receive only through the conventional wired internet service.
The prices that Vodafone Albania offers for Mobile Internet Access (MIA) service are indeed tailored to suit all customers’ needs. For a daily internet user of pre-pay plan – the daily bundle of 30 MB costs only ALL 60 (VAT included) while for a week of internet access the prepay subscribers can purchase the weekly bundle of 200 MB at only ALL 300 (VAT included). The packages can be purchased by calling 131 and following instructions.
Many have heard about the Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB). In simple, it represents the broadband internet service through a SIM card placed into an USB modem. Vodafone has just introduced two very cost-effective promotions for both pre and post pay tariff plans. Pre-pay subscribers are offered a USB modem, (14.4 Mbps), the SIM card and three months of free internet (2GB internet traffic per moth) for only ALL 6500 (VAT Included). Post pay VMB subscribers upon signing their VMB subscription receive a free USB modem and 2GB/month and 5GB free of the monthly fixed tariff on the first month of subscription – depending on the selected tariff plan. These products can be purchased at any Vodafone shop in the areas covered by the 3G network.
Now, at the same tariff as for the voice calls all Vodafone Albania subscribers covered by the 3G network have the opportunity to use the video-call service. Subscribers can opt to use the video call option to see and talk with their friends, relatives and business partners, subject to both parties having 3G coverage and video-call enabled phones.
