Tirana, April 26, 2011 NOA - Prime Minister Sali Berisha in the course of announcement of the candidates of the “Alliance for the Citizen” coalition running for mayor at May 8 local polls was in Përrenjas today. During an electoral rally with Përrenjas citizens, the prime minister expressed support for the candidate of this coalition Bajazit Karriqi.
During the last five years in Elbasani region were built 400 km road, 227 km of which are rural roads and 73 km national road, 51 medical centers, 37 waterworks and canal systems, 78 schools and kindergartens, said PM Berisha.
Appreciating Mr. Karriqi’s mayoral candidacy, the prime minister ensured Përrenjas citizens that during the next four years the government will support every project about transformation and development of Përrenjas; there will get asphalted every road; there will be built and reconstructed every school, waterworks and canal system in Librazhd district. The prime minister pointed to building of Tiranë-Elbasan highway, a four-lane road and with a 2.4 km tunnel which will cut by 50 minutes the travel time toward the capital. There are other important projects on this district; there are under construction or will be built roads like Librazhd-Stude Pass, Banjë-Elbasan, Gramsh-Maliq.
The government has financed the farmers of Elbasani region during the last four years on 4 thousand hectares of land or 30 times more as compared to the eight years of the Socialist governance; 3900 farmers have benefited. In 2011, 1780 farmers have applied for 800 hectares of land. “We pledge to subsidize for every olive tree, nut, hazelnut and other fruit tree you will plant so that to improve your life,” said the prime minister. Further on, PM Berisha said that owing to our policy it is doubled the number of businesses in Elbasani region, from 5100 to 9700.
